Our facilities are designed to support the way children learn best – through exploration, creativity, movement, and calm focus. Housed across two connected Victorian homes, the school retains a warm, homely feel where children feel secure, comfortable and known. Classrooms are bright, welcoming and thoughtfully resourced, giving pupils the confidence to try, reflect, and develop independence.

Across the school, children benefit from dedicated spaces for art, music, reading, technology and swimming, alongside immersive learning rooms that bring ideas to life. Each space has a clear purpose, supporting both academic learning and emotional wellbeing as children grow.

Supporting healthy bodies and focused minds

Spaces for Movement and Play

Physical development is a valued part of every day at Polam. Children use our large gymnasium for PE, movement and structured physical activities that build strength, coordination and confidence. Swimming also forms part of the curriculum, with lessons taught in our own heated, indoor pool, helping children develop water confidence, independence and essential life skills from an early age.

Our all-weather playground allows children to play outdoors throughout the year, whatever the weather. Daily access to outdoor space gives pupils time to move freely, socialise and recharge, helping them return to learning calm, settled and ready to focus.

Bringing learning to life

Specialist and Immersive Learning Spaces

Children at Polam learn in a range of specialist spaces designed to deepen understanding and spark curiosity. Dedicated rooms for music and performing arts, art, reading and technology allow pupils to explore subjects in focused, purposeful environments, supported by specialist resources and staff.

Our immersive learning rooms transform topics into shared experiences, helping children make connections, ask questions and engage more deeply with their learning. These spaces encourage creativity, collaboration and independence, making learning memorable, meaningful and enjoyable.
