Polam Parents Association
We are the Polam Parents Association (PPA) and would like to extend a warm welcome to you all, we hope this gives you a little more insight into what we do, who we are and what you can expect from us over the year.
So what do we do? In essence we organise fun events that help to raise funds for the school and our chosen charity: things that may be educational or purely enjoyable and that help to bring parents, pupils and teachers together for the benefit of the pupils. Already in the plan for this year are cake sales, a quiz night, and Christmas creative sessions. For nursery children there will be a magic show, and for school age children there will be a school disco, a film ‘night’, as well as for the Class of 2018 (Year 2 and Key Stage 2) we will host a summer Pool Party. On top of that we organise a Christmas Fayre and a Summer Fayre filled with games to play, stalls of goodies and performances from the children, as well as the very popular Christmas Hampers and Little Gifts events which will take place in the autumn term.
The school children vote on which charity they would like to support over the coming year and we are very proud of the great effort that everyone puts in to support the school and charity. In 2016/17 we raised a fantastic £827.74 for the chosen charity HULA Animal Rescue, and donated inclusive ride on equipment for all the children at Polam to enjoy in the playground, as well as a trampoline. For this year, 2017/18 the children have voted to support the Bedford and District Cerebral Palsy Society.
We keep parents updated throughout the year with updates, messages in the weekly newsletter from the school and via text message now and then. If you would like to join us, or help in any way this is always welcome. Please let the School Office know and we will be in touch. If you have any ideas, we also would love to hear them so please pop in or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Again a big welcome to you, and we hope you have a fun time with us this year,
