At Polam we take children from Nursery age, all the way through to 9 years old (Year 4), progressing them through both structured and play-based learning. With a varied curriculum built to suit each age and ability range, Polam Pre-Prep offers children the best possible start on their educational journey.
On top of subjects such as Mathematics, English and Science, we also provide an extended curriculum including a range of opportunities in Sport, Swimming, Music and Languages. We see this as an important part in the development of our children as it gives them a chance to express themselves and experience new areas of learning.
From 12 months to 3 years, babies and toddlers benefit from our well-equipped and comfortable Nursery, where they receive personal attention from our caring and highly trained staff.
At 3 to 4 years old, children are approaching school age. Although the emphasis is still on learning through play, they also enjoy a more structured programme including Music and Modern Languages.
Years 1 to 4
In Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children at Polam are offered a rich and balanced curriculum that seeks to develop the whole child and prepare them for the next stage in their education.
One of the many advantages of being part of the independent sector is that we retain our flexibility and objectivity whilst still respecting national guidelines on education.
The Extended Curriculum
We aim to educate in the broadest sense, providing our children with a wide range of opportunities in Sport, Swimming, Music and Languages to experience new areas of learning.
Polam School offers all its pupils a combination of strong academic grounding and confidence building which will help them to win a place at their future school of choice.
Our Headteacher advises and supports all parents to ensure that their children take the very best path forward in their education, whether staying at Polam or moving on to another school.
