Admissions Process

Joining us is straightforward.

Apply for a place at our exceptional school and put your child on the path to a fantastic educational experience. We have designed our admissions process to be as easy as possible and we will happily guide you every step of the way.

Easy 6 step process
1
Contact us

Contact our Admissions Manager for an initial conversation about your child and to check availability in the relevant year group.

2
Visit us

Arrange to visit Polam for a personal tour to discuss all aspects of school life and experience the atmosphere.

Tours are conducted by our Admissions Manager (Ron), and where possible the headteacher will come and say hello and answer any questions you may have.

If for any reason you are unable to visit us in person, we can offer a 1:1 video call or telephone call with our Headteacher as an introduction to our school.

3
Register

Complete a registration form and pay a non-returnable £75 registration fee.

Please note: Registration is an indication of interest and is not a guarantee of a place. Places at Polam School are much sought after, particularly in the Nursery where we have limited places available.

4
Offer

Once we have received your Registration forms, we will arrange a taster session.

Following a taster session, if we are all agreed that Polam is the right setting for your child, we will send you an offer letter, subject to availability, along with the remaining admissions forms to complete (medical, consent, direct debit mandate, acceptance form).

5
Completion

Entry is confirmed when the acceptance documentation is returned with the deposit, which is refundable when your child leaves, providing all fees and other bills have been cleared.

In the case of children joining the Nursery, the School reserves the right to retain half of this deposit if the child does not go through to the School and complete at least the Reception year.

Settling In Sessions

Shortly before your child joins the School, we will contact you to arrange a settling-in session where your child can come in for 60-90 minutes (depending on the age of the child), to meet their new teacher and their classmates.

This is to help them become familiar with their new surroundings. Parents of very young children are more than welcome to stay for the duration of the first taster session, although we do often find that children will integrate more easily if they don’t have parents with them.

If you would like to find out more about Polam School, or if you would like to arrange a visit, please telephone us on 01234 261864 or email admissions@polamschool.co.uk.

If you require assistance in parking at or accessing the school please phone the school office prior to your visit.
