Charity Assembly with FACES
Last Friday we held our end-of-term Charity Assembly where we were able to hand over a cheque to our chosen charity FACES. This year the money raised by the PPA will be going to the LunchBox@FACES project, which offers support for families and their children by providing meals during the school summer holidays. Free school meals are a lifeline for many families but when term ends and the summer holidays begin, up to three million children in Britain face weeks of going hungry. It is the aim of FACES Bedford to ensure that no child in Bedford Borough goes hungry this summer.
At our assembly Joe and Florence handed over a cheque for an incredible £1381.25, which is the largest sum the school has ever raised for a nominated charity. Amy, who accepted the cheque on behalf of FACES, promised to send us an update in September as to how the money was spent.
As always we extend a massive thank you to our Parents Association who work tirelessly each year, raising money for both charity and the school. And an enormous thank you to all our parents who have supported the many fundraising events throughout this year. As a small school it’s incredible what we have been able to achieve together.
